This was my first time shooting soccer and these are some outtakes. The poor goalie in the second picture was scored on 6 times.

View from the Laundromat Window

These are a couple of shots taken through the window of a laundromat when I first moved back to Chicago in January. I was learning the ins -n-outs of the Mark II they gave me to work with during my internship at the Northwest Herald. And yes, the weather looked and felt as miserable as these people seem walking through the snow.

This is for a photo column photographers get to shoot and write for once a week. This week was my turn. I cut out some text to make it shorter for this post.

Bruce Schildt of Woodstock, Ill. comes out his barn with a set of pliers in each hand on a sunny but cold March afternoon. He has been tearing down old tin signs and other metal objects from inside that can be recycled because the 100-year-old structure will be torn down in the spring. “I’m not sad about it or anything. It’s got a bad foundation, and if I don’t do something with it, it’s just going to fall down on its own one of these days,” says, Schildt.

Wandering Around The City

I spent one of my days off this week walking around the city. I love doing that because it's relaxing and takes my mind off things.
